The YWCA hosted its annual Race Against Racism for its Diversity Day on Saturday.

The YWCA hosts Diversity Day each year to celebrate wellness, diversity and dignity, according to the group's website.

The group hosted its Race Against Racism, which dozens of people participated in, despite the frigid temperatures.

The race comes just before Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Knox County mayor was in attendance at Saturday's event, mentioning how this is a great way to bring together the community.

"Too many times, we play up the bad and play down the good," Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett said. "This is just a good thing. It's just a group of like-minded folks."

Along with the race, there were speeches given, inspiration booths set up and live entertainment. For those looking for ways to get involved with the community, you can check out the YWCA website.
