'Nashville's' season 6 premiere date has been revealed

Filming for season 6 started back in September.
A $10 million public-private incentive package, mostly from the state budget, will keep "Nashville" filming in Music City for Season 4.

The wait for new episodes of "Nashville" is nearly over.

Season 6 of the TV show will premiere on Thursday, January 4.

Stars Hayden Panettiere and Jonathan Jackson shared the news in a video posted to social media on Tuesday.

"We're so excited to be back," Panettiere says in the clip.

Filming for season 6 started back in September.

It's not clear yet if "Nashville" will air at the same time on Thursday nights as last season (9 p.m. ET).

"Nashville" will eventually be joined on Thursdays by "Music City." The Nashville-set "docu-series" was created by Adam Divello, who was behind MTV's smash hits "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills."
