Actress Ashley Judd is weighing in on state legislature to bring back the electric chair as a backup to lethal injection.

Judd, a Democrat, questioned the value of bringing back the electric chair. She said she would rather see funding and efforts go to groups like Head Start, an organization that helps reduce teenage crime.

Earlier this week, Governor Haslam said he respects voters' and lawmakers' decision to have the death penalty, but he said he also understands the moral and economic arguments against capital punishment.
