ID=2859567Voters in Knoxville voted to keep their incumbent City Council leaders on Tuesday with low turnout.

Of the five seats on the ballot, only two were contested. In district four, Nick Della Volpe narrowly defended his seat with 51.67% of the vote while 48.33% of voters cast their ballots for his challenger Rick Staples.

In district six, Daniel Brown defended his seat with 77.42% of the vote, while his challenger, Pete Drew, pulled in 22.58% of the vote.

Citywide, only 4,349 voters cast ballots, of the some 105,000 registered voters.
