Two former Smokies will play in the Futures Game this summer.

Iowa Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant and shortstop Javier Baez were selected for the game. It's a match up of the top US-born prospects against the top prospects from the rest of the world. Bryant will play for the US, while Baez will be on the world team.

Bryant has hit 27 home runs in 74 games. He led the Southern League in all three triple-crown categories(batting .346, .488 OBP, 58 RBI) before his promotion to Iowa.

Baez was the Cubs' top prospect coming into this season. He has 11 homers in only 65 games.

The Futures Game is Sunday, July 13 at 5 p.m. EST. The game will be played at Target Field in Minneapolis.
