DES MOINES (WBIR) - Kris Bryant homered in his first Double-A at bat for the Smokies in April.

It took him a little longer to go yard in his Triple-A debut.

Bryant was 0-for-3 with a strikeout and six runners left on base heading in to the 7th inning of the Iowa Cubs game against El Paso on Thursday.

But Bryant slammed a two-run homer off of Branch Kloess for his first home run in Triple-A.

The Cubs 2nd overall pick in the 2013 MLB Draft left the Southern League after 68 games as the circuits leader in 10 offensive categories, including the Triple Crown.

The Iowa Cubs won the game, 6-2.
