Volquest.com reports former Florida Gulf Coast University forward Eric McKnight has committed to Tennessee.

McKnight graduated this spring semester, and would be eligible immediately for his senior season in 2014-15.

The 6-foot-9, 210-pound McKnight was part of FGCU's Sweet 16 team in 2013, throwing down three of the team's four high-flying dunks against San Diego State in the Round of 32.

He is originally from Raleigh, NC, and played one year at Iowa State before transferring to FGCU.

Because of transfer rules, McKnight had to sit out the 2011-12 season, but blocked 47 shots his redshirt sophomore year in 2012-13, good for third in FGCU history.

He averaged 6.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and shot 66.3 percent from the field in 2013-14.

But McKnight was suspended for the first six games of the season for an undisclosed violation of team rules. He ended up sitting out the first 12 games of the season.

McKnight would become Donnie Tyndall's fourth commit, joining Jabari McGhee, Detrick Mostella and Kevin Punter. That replaces four players who signed under Cuonzo Martin, who were released from their NLI at their request after Tyndall took over.

In addition, rising sophomores Darius Thompson and A.J. Davis received their releases from Tennessee.

With the signing of McKnight, Tennessee would have four remaining scholarships for the upcoming 2014-15 season.
