The door isn't shut on Jauan Jennings possibly returning to Tennessee's football program.

However, there doesn't appear to be any imminent resolution regarding the situation with the star wide receiver.

Jennings, who enjoyed a breakout sophomore season for the Vols in 2016 and suffered a season-ending wrist injury in the first half of the season opener in September, was abruptly dismissed from the program last month by interim coach Brady Hoke and athletic director John Currie just days before the season finale against Vanderbilt.

The arrival of a new coach in Jeremy Pruitt and Phillip Fulmer supplanting Currie have led some close to the program to believe Jennings ultimately will wind up rejoining the Vols, but the process appears to be in its early stages and the ending is far from a given.
