Dave Hart hasn’t remotely stopped fighting for the best interests of Tennessee athletics, especially in the face of the controversy surrounding the, at the very least, questionable decision not to play the Florida-LSU football game sometime this weekend.

Hart, on behalf of the Vols’ football program, spoke multiple times in recent days to Southeastern Conference Commissioner Greg Sankey, who did not apply the same heavy-handed approach that former SEC head Mike Slive utilized in 2005 when Tennessee played at LSU. Hart's conversations with the SEC office took place well in advance of Saturday's game, which saw Butch Jonesand the Vols suffer their first loss of the season in a 45-38, double-overtime setback at Texas A&M.
