VFL Peyton Manning will host the 2017 ESPY Awards in July, ESPN announced Tuesday.

ESPN announced the host on Twitter Tuesday morning.

The 25th ESPY Awards air on Wednesday, July 12 starting at 8 p.m. on ABC.

Five-time NFL MVP Manning retired from professional football in March 2016. "The Sheriff" played 18 seasons in the NFL and won two Super Bowls, one with the Indianapolis Colts and one with the Denver Broncos.

Manning, who starred as the Vols' quarterback from 1994-1997, will be inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame in December.
