The SEC has announced that the Florida Gators will play LSU on November 19th in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The two teams were originally set to play on October 8th, but the game was indefinitely postponed after the threat of Hurricane Matthew.

LSU was originally set to play South Alabama on November 19th and Florida would have played Presbyterian.

"It was important for us to come to a resolution," said SEC commissioner Greg Sankey in a statement released Thursday afternoon. "As I have repeatedly said, this game needed to be played. In the end, I want to give credit to the University of Florida for making concessions to move this year's game to Baton Rouge."

In the statement released by the SEC, it was also said that, if the game had not been rescheduled, Florida and LSU would "have been ineligible to compete for the SEC title this season."

In addition, the SEC said there is now an expectation that the policy for postponed games will be revised in the future, with the hope of giving the Commissioner more power to reschedule games if an agreement cannot be reached between the parties involved.
