Maryville and Alcoa both notched wins in the penultimate week of regular season football action Thursday.

The Maryville Rebels (9-0) visited Bradley Central (7-2) in Cleveland, Tennessee and never trailed in a 48-21 rout in the rain.

Special teams and defense starred early for the Rebels. Linebacker T.D. Blackmon caught an interception that led to a field goal to put them up 6-0. Later, a mishandled snap by the Bears' punter on fourth down led to a hit by Trejaun Purty, setting up a Jordan Ervin touchdown.

Earvin would tack on another touchdown before the half, and quarterback Dylan Hopkins would connect with A.J. Davis for another touchdown. The Rebels led 27-0 at the half and never looked back.

Alcoa (8-1) shut out Red Bank, 28-0.

In the first quarter, Larry Hodge intercepted a pass which would lead to a one-yard touchdown run by Coltton Wright.

Leading 7-0, Jaylen Meyers called his own number on a QB draw and scored from 16 yards to put the Tornadoes up 14-0.
