The University of Tennessee gathered at the Knoxville Convention Center Monday night to celebrate the accomplishments of its student-athletes at the 11th annual Volscars.

Everyone dressed up in their very best to walk the Orange Carpet and reflect upon the past year in Tennessee athletics.

A star-studded list of student athletes received Volscars this year:

-Comeback of the Year: Football vs Georgia (Oct 1, 2016)

-Male Rookie of the Year: Grant Williams, Basketball

-Female Rookie of the Year: Meghan Small, Swimming & Diving

-Male Athlete of the Year: Christian Coleman, Track & Field

-Female Athlete of the Year: Felicia Brown, Track & Field; Meghan Gregg, Softball

-Mr. Tennessee: Joshua Dobbs, Football

-Ms. Tennessee: Colleen Callahan, Swimming & Diving

The Volscars also honor academic achievements for Tennessee. 87 student-athletes will graduate in 2017. 44 Tennessee freshmen student-athletes made the first-year SEC honor roll.

Rising Lady Vol senior Alexa Middleton is part of the group that organizes the Volscars, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Middleton said a night like this is all about bringing the University closer together.

"It's just a night to hang out and kind of celebrate the year's accomplishments in our sports," said Middleton. "This is a big unity event for us, to have all the teams here, we focus on volunteer service and just how we can make the student-athlete experience better for each individual here at the University."
