With the regular season wrapping up Friday night, dreams of earning a playoff berth became reality for many area teams while others just missed out on postseason play.

Region 1-6A

All teams in 6A make the playoffs, but certain seeds were determined Friday night. Maryville cruised past Hardin Valley, 45-0, to take home the No. 1 seed. The win gave the Rebels their 16th consecutive region championship under head coach George Quarles. With the loss, Hardin Valley finished second in the region and will host a playoff game. Bradley Central and Science Hill are the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds, respectively.

Region 2-5A

Gibbs defeated West to oust the Rebels from playoff contention. Gibbs gets the No. 1 seed. Even though Heritage fell to Halls, the Mountaineers secured the No. 4 seed. Halls took the No. 2 spot, and South-Doyle earned the No. 3 seed after defeating Powell, 49-14.

Region 3-5A

Oak Ridge earned the No. 1 seed and region title after defeating Campbell County 28-0 Thursday night. The Cougars's loss dropped them to the No. 3 seed. Farragut secured the No. 2 seed with a dominating 49-21 victory over Clinton. Lenoir City received the fourth and final playoff spot in the region after Clinton's loss.

Region 2-4A

Catholic had the No. 1 seed locked up before its matchup against Union County Friday night. Anderson County was ousted from postseason play after losing to Carter Thursday. The Hornets took the final spot in the region playoff picture. The potential No. 2 and No. 3 seeds faced off in their final game of the season. Central outlasted Fulton 21-19 to put the Bobcats in the No. 2 spot. The Falcons took the No. 3 seed with the loss.

Region 1-3A

No. 1 - No. 4 seeds: Elizabethton, Northview Academy, Pigeon Forge, Unicoi County

Region 2-3A

Alcoa shut out CAK 45-0 to earn the No. 1 seed in the region. The Warriors are the No. 2 seed. Scott and McMinn Central are the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds, respectively.

Region 2-2A

The Roadrunners of Austin-East are region champions for the first time since 2009 after defeating Grace Christian, 48-7. The Rams are the No. 2 seed with the loss. Sweetwater is the No. 3 seed. Rockwood beat Tellico Plains 41-26 to secure the fourth playoff spot.
