Temper tantrums and meltdowns are part of life for parents of many toddlers, but they are a rare occurrence in Brittany Talent's home.
She says her two-year-old daughter, Iva, is usually very happy.
"She's in a good mood most of the time unless it's nap time or she's hungry," said Talent.
On Monday morning, Iva had a meltdown. It wasn't because she was tired or hungry. It was because her favorite football player is leaving her favorite team.
"I woke up and saw on social media that Jalen Hurd was leaving. So, I told Iva and was like 'Jalen's gone,' and she didn't really understand. Then I said 'he's moving schools,' and then that's when the tears started flowing," said Talent.
The tears did stop, but only because Iva remembered Smokey will still be on the sidelines.
"She loves Smokey too. Luckily, he's not going anywhere," said Talent.
In a press conference Monday, Vols Head Coach Butch Jones stayed positive about losing one of his star players.
"There's a lot of things that go into that decision and I guess the only thing I'll say is I value our relationship and I have a lot of respect for that young man and wish him nothing but the best," said Jones.
