KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Two drivers were hospitalized after a serious wreck on I-40 East at the Strawberry Plains Pike exit.
The crash happened at the intersection of the bottom of the exit ramp from I-40 East around 6 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
There were two vehicles involved. One driver was taken to UT Medical Center in critical condition, and the other driver was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, KPD said.
The crash closed two lanes of traffic and the exit.
KPD has not released the names of the drivers involved and if either could face charges.
