Two separate crashes on Interstate 40 near the Knox and Loundon county lines caused major traffic delays Tuesday evening.
The first crash happened when a tractor trailer overturned near mile marker 368 around 6:45 p.m. Two westbound lanes reopened after about two hours.
The third westbound lane was expected to reopen after midnight.

A second crash happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. at mile marker 372 eastbound between the Campbell Station and truck scales exits.
According to TDOT, the crash had traffic backed up nearly five miles.
Knox County Dispatch said two cars were involved in the collision. Dispatch said it doesn't think there are any injuries, but the cars were damaged enough to need to be towed away.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to the crash.
