Rainfall chances and gusty wind are expected in East Tennessee as Monday progresses.

Rain chances arrive late Monday night and last into Tuesday morning. Another round of showers is expected Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Rainfall totals are expected to be between 2-3 1/2 inches. About 1/2-1 inch is expected Monday night, and 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inches are expected Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Many parts of East Tennessee haven't received significant rain in months.

A wind advisory is in effect for all of East Tennessee from Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning. Winds could gust up to 45 mph.

A high wind watch is in effect for the foothills and Smokies from Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning. Winds could gust up to 60 mph in those areas.

High temperatures Monday are expected to reach the mid-60s.
