Beth Haynes, a native of Athens, Tennessee, began her news career at the ripe old age of 10 as a "Kidsnews" reporter for WTVC in Chattanooga. She's been telling stories ever since.

Beth first joined the WBIR team as an intern while in college at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

After graduating with a major in Broadcasting and a minor in Political Science, she headed to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Beth worked with television news teams from across the country as a Broadcasting Publicist.

But with the news bug biting strong, she left the "land of make believe" for her first on-air gig as a one man band reporter and eventually main anchor at WKAG in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. A year later, Beth traded bluegrass for soul and joined the Fox 24 news team at WGXA in Macon, Georgia. Still toting a camera, she worked her way up to nightside reporter and then evening anchor.

In September of 2002, Beth finally came back to her roots in East Tennessee.

Beth loves to run, dance and watch football. She especially loves cheering on the Tennessee Vols! Now that she's back in Knoxville, Beth can watch from the stands and not the TV.
