Steve began his sports broadcasting career during his playtime as a child. He was the quarterback, the receiver and the play-by-play announcer.
His first paying job was as a disc jockey while a teenager. After school, he moved into radio news and then into television.
Steve was a sportscaster in Birmingham and then Nashville, winning a number of awards along the way, including an Emmy. It was also in Nashville that Steve met and married his wife Toni.
Steve is a graduate of the University of Alabama. He is an avid golfer and also enjoys photography and reading.
