If one of your New Years resolutions was to get out and do more, try starting off with The Lady Vols game Thursday night. It's an SEC bout against the LSU Tigers. Tip off is set for 7:00 pm at Thompson Boling Arena.

I'm sad to say that it's the last weekend for Holidays On Ice at Market Square. If you haven't made it by you've got until Sunday. The rink opens at 10:00 am Friday and Saturday, all other days at 1:00 pm.

Looking for some laughs in the New Year? Try out Side Splitters this weekend. You can catch a show through Saturday with local funny man Spanky Brown. For showtimes check out www.sidesplitterscomedy.com.

Don't forget our friends at the zoo. Through February admission is half price for Penguin Discount Days. Many of the zoo's residents love the cold weather. The zoo opens everyday at 10:00 am.

The Ice Bears are at home this weekend. Friday the Bears are partnering with different pet adoption agencies for Pucks and Paws Night. Bring your own pup and watch the first of two contests with the Pensacola Ice Flyers. Saturday, enjoy Legends night as Ice Bear legends take to the ice. Both games start at 7:30 pm.

Cuonzo Martin and the Vols look to keep things going Saturday as they host the Tusculum Pioneers. Head to Thompson Boling and grab a seat. The game starts at 2:00 pm.

And finally, The Royal Bangs will be joined by Johnny Astro and the Big Band, Saturday night at Barley's Taproom & Pizzeria. Grab some dinner and stay for the show which starts at 10:00 pm. Tickets are $5. Must be 21 to get in.
