10 About Town 4/17 - 4/20

We start the weekend off at the Bijou Theatre with the sisters Leah and Chloe Smith performing as Rising Appalachia. The folk duo will take the stage Thursday night at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $16.50.

Also Thursday catch a performance with Christian group Casting Crowns at the Knoxville Coliseum. Casting Crowns will be joined by other special guests starting at 7:00 pm. Tickets start at $22.00.

In celebration of Easter weekend many of the churches in downtown Knoxville will be at Market Square for Stations of the Cross on Good Friday. The tour begins and ends at Market Square, starting at 5:00 pm.

Get a jump start on your Earth day celebrations at the Knoxville Zoo. Friday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm special activities, animal demonstrations and more will be available, all with conservation of the planet in mind.

If you're near Regal Downtown West Cinema 8 on Friday, you may want to stop by for a viewing of documentary Particle Fever. UT Physics professors will be on hand after the 7:20 pm showing for an insightful Q and A.

If you are looking for an egg hunt this weekend check out the Easter Eggstravaganda at Pathway's Church South Knoxville Campus. The hunt will include food, inflatables and over 15,000 eggs. The event goes from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and is free.

Saturday is also international Records Store Day. The Disc Exchange on Chapman Hwy will feature several bands like Gamenight and Kelsey's Woods through out the day. The first show starts at 11:00 am and this is another free event.

Head to The Square Room Saturday night for a taste of Celtic music with The Teetotallers. This Irish trio will not disappoint. The show starts at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $30 at the door.

The Bijou Theatre has Rebelution and Common Kings Saturday night. It's California reggae at its finest. The show starts at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $20.

Fans of a little rockabilly don't want to miss Unknown Hinson and Cathouse Prophets playing at The Shed Saturday night. Hinson is a force to be reckoned with when he has guitar in hand. The show is $20 and starts at 8:00 pm.

We wind down our Easter weekend Sunday with a free concert called Light Up This City. Head to the Lee Greenwood Theater to join youtube sensation Daves Highway, Michael English and John Berry. Doors open at 6:00 pm.
