Jammin at Hippie Jack's Americana Roots Music Festival is back and better than ever. There's great music and fun for the whole family. The event features multiple stages and runs through Sunday. For tickets and directions check out www.jamminathippiejacks.com.

It's important to relieve stress before you head into the weekend and what better way than at a "Car Bash & Cookout" to benefit Alzheimer's Tennessee. Stop by Elmcroft of West Knoxville Friday for some bashing and burgers. The event runs from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Take a trip down the Tennessee River at the world premier of "Voyage". A group of friends embark on a 1,000 mile journey to the Gulf of Mexico. This amazing documentary will be showing at the Bijou Theatre, Friday at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $18.50.

The Panerathon 5k/10k to Fight Hunger takes place this weekend. In its 37th year, this event joins fitness and families all for a great cause. Stop by Church Street, west of Hall of Fame, Saturday at 8:00 am.

From the Highlands of Western North Carolina, Pipapelli brings the sounds of rocking blues and celtic all wrapped up as one. Put on your finest kilt and head to the Preservation Pub Saturday night. The show starts at 8:00 pm.

The Kentucky Headhunters along with Cathouse Prophets will be jammin' hard at the Shed Saturday night. For good music outdoors, head to Maryville and enjoy the show. The music starts at 8:00 pm.

Also Saturday night, we kick it up a notch with the Hard Knox Roller Girls. Roller derby is always an adrenaline infused good time. Matches take place at the Civic Coliseum. The first bout starts at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $12 at the door.

In anticipation of Statehood day on June 1st, many historic Tennessee sites will be offering free admission. For example, if you head to Historic Marble Springs on Saturday, you can walk among some living history from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and again, admission is free.
