Thomas Rhett, Kelsea Ballerini to host CMA Fest

Thomas Rhett and Kelsea Ballerini became fast friends when she joined his Home Team Tour about two months ago. Fans can see them in action Thursday and Friday nights when Ballerini opens for Rhett at his sold-out shows at Ascend Amphitheater.

This summer their camaraderie will have an even bigger stage: The Country Music Association revealed Thursday morning the pair will co-host its ABC television special “CMA Fest 2017” that will air in late summer.

Taped during CMA Music Festival, June 8-11 in downtown Nashville, “CMA Fest 2017” will be a multi-hour concert event featuring highlights from festival's nightly shows at Nissan Stadium. The line-up includes Brad Paisley, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Chris Young, Blake Shelton, Cole Swindell and more.

“We’ve been on tour together since February so I think we’ve gained a lot of really cool chemistry and become great friends,” said Rhett, who co-hosted the show last year with Brett Eldredge. “It was so fun last year. It should be even better this year.”

Tickets to CMA Music Festival’s nightly concerts at Nissan Stadium are still available at CMAfest.com.
