Foo Fighters' HBO series features Dolly Parton, more

Dolly Parton, Carrie Underwood and the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach are among the Music City stars helping Dave Grohl and the rest of the Foo Fighters map out America's "Sonic Highways."

That's the name of the band's upcoming studio album and corresponding HBO documentary series. Grohl and company recorded the album in eight American cities - including Nashville - and interviewed dozens of musical figures along the way. Parton, Underwood and Auerbach are among the faces seen in a new trailer for the series, along withPresident Barack Obama.

The Foos' Nashville visit also included a stop at the Bluebird Cafe, where Grohl played a surprise acoustic set for unsuspecting patrons.

"Sonic Highways" premieres October 17 on HBO.
