Chris Blue advances to live playoff rounds on The Voice

April 3, 2017: Chris Blue is going to the live rounds of NBC's The Voice! The Knoxville singer is making his mark on the show and in his home community.

Chris Blue is going back to Los Angeles!

The Knoxville singer won his knockout round on NBC's The Voice Monday. He now moves on as one of the top 20 singers to perform in the show's live playoff rounds.

Blue was up against fellow Team Alicia member Quizz Swanigan, a 13-year-old from Little Rock.

Blue drew praise from all of the judges for his performance of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition." Rival coach Gwen Stefani  said he was "magical."

"Chris, I think I might be your biggest fan you've ever had because you're everything I love," Stefani said.

Blue clearly has a big fan in coach Blake Shelton. Shelton jumped up from his chair after the performance, yelling, "That's the guy! That's what I've been saying!"

Earlier this season, after Chris's battle round performance, Shelton said he believes Chris could win the entire competition.

While Alicia Keys chose Chris as the winner of the round, Swanigan will be moving on, too. Stefani stole him over to her team after the knockout.

Blue took to his Facebook page on Sunday to encourage his fans to watch his Monday night performance.

Blue, who grew up singing gospel music with his talented family, is now the worship leader at Knoxville's Cokesbury Methodist Church.

Some of Blue's family and friends gathered at The Empty Cup coffee shop in West Knoxville to watch his knockout round performance. Their eyes were glued to the screen while Chris sang his heart out to win his spot.

"I'm to the moon right now," said P.J. Blue, Chris' brother. "You know, I'm just looking at the stars, and I think I see Chris developing one out there."

Chris's family is proud of all he's accomplished, but they are quick to say that God is at the center of everything he does and will do in the future.

"It's just amazing to see him on "The Voice" like that," said his sister Ashley Blue, "doing what he loves to do, being an inspiration out there to everyone in the country."
