The Hearing and Speech Foundation has a new auditory and therapy center in Maryville.

Thursday, the community got a chance to check it out.

The foundation has been around for more than two decades. Among it's programs, it provides hearing aids to those who can't afford them.

Now, this center will allow the foundation to provide therapy.

The center uses what's called the verbo-tonal method.

"Basically, the method relies on the residual hearing that an individual has and it trains the brain to perceive speech," said Amanda Womac.

The new facility is located on East Broadway Avenue in Maryville.
