Chocolate Cream Pie


Pie crust

2.5 oz milk chocolate

3 cups milk, divided

1 & 1/3 cup sugar

3 tablespoons flour

3 tablespoons corn starch

½ teaspoon salt

3 egg yolks

2 tablespoons butter

1 & ½ teaspoon vanilla


In a bowl combine sugar, flour, cornstarch, salt. Mix 1 cup of milk and egg yolks together then stir into sugar mixture, set aside. Place chocolate and 2 cups milk in a pot over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils. Gradually add sugar/egg mixture to boiling milk. Continue cooking and stirring over medium heat, return to a boil, and boil for 1 minute while stirring. After 1 minute boil, remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla. Cool and pour into baked pie crust. Refrigerate and top with whipped cream for serving.
