Coconut Cream Pie

1 prebaked pie crust

2/3 c. white sugar

5 T. of flour

1/2 tsp. salt

2 1/2 cups milk

3 egg yolks slightly beaten

1 tsp. vanilla

1 cup shredded coconut

Mix all dry ingredients except coconut together. Put in a double boiler and add cold milk. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Stir a little of hot mixture into beaten egg yolks then add back into pan on double boiler for 2 min. Add 1/2 of coconut. Cool and top with meringue and remaining coconut and bake till top is brown.
