Almond Butter Cup Smoothie

Recipe adapted from Daniel Sage, Juice Press, New York City

Makes 1 Smoothie (16 ounces)


1 medium frozen banana

2 tablespoons almond butter (or natural peanut butter)

2 teaspoons cocoa powder

1/8 teaspoon cinnamon

½ cup almond milk (or fat-free milk)

2 tablespoons agave syrup-optional

Start to Finish: 10 minutes


In a blender, combine the banana with almond butter, cocoa powder, cinnamon, almond milk and agave syrup. Blend until smooth, about 30 seconds. Transfer the smoothie to a tall glass and serve immediately.
