Cherry-Almond Cupcakes


Favorite Cupcake Recipe

1 Cup Maraschino Cherries

2 tsp Almond Extract

Favorite Buttercream


After preparing the cake mix, roughly chop the maraschino cherries (set a few whole cherries a side to garnish with later). Use a paper towel to absorb extra liquid from chopped cherries. Add half cherries and 1tsp of the almond extract to cake batter and slowly hand mix until cherries are evenly dispersed. Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full with batter and bake according to recipe.

While cupcakes are cooling add remaining chopped cherries and almond extract to buttercream. Ice cupcakes and top with a maraschino cherry.
