Grandmama Jean's Chicken and Dumplings

Nov. 2, 2016: Mary Scott shares her favorite holiday recipe from her Grandmama Jean.


2 Cups of Flour
1/3 cup of shortening
1 tsp salt
ice water
Bone in chicken

Sift the salt into the flour. Cut in the shortening with a pastry blender. Slowly work in ice water a little a time until you form a dough. Roll out into a thin sheet and cut out dumplings into strips.

Salt chicken... Boil chicken until cooked... remove chicken and pull off bone. Leave stock.

Drop dumplings into boiling stock one at a time... cook for 8-10 minutes.
ENJOY!
