Sausage-egg casserole

Recipe from Miss Olivia 12/28/16

Thick slices of bread, Texas toast slices work well
1 pound breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
6 eggs, beaten
2 cups half and half
Shredded cheddar cheese (about 1 1/2 cups) Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with Pam.
Layer bread slices close together to cover the bottom of the dish. Cut to fit if necessary.  Sprinkle cooked sausage evenly over the bread.  Combine eggs and milk and whisk a minute or so.  Pour evenly over sausage layer.  Sprinkle cheese over all.  Cover tightly with plastic wrap.  Refrigerate several hours or over night.  Preheat oven to 350° .  Bake until puffed and golden, about 30 minutes.  An instant read thermometer inserted into the middle should read 165°.
