Symphony on the Square

The Knoxville Symphony Chamber Orchestra will perform "Symphony On The Square," a FREE concert on the Market Square stage in downtown Knoxville, on Thursday, May 24 at 7:00 PM. The concert, sponsored by Home Federal Bank, is family-friendly and open to the public. Patrons are encouraged to arrive early and bring a picnic-dinner, blankets and/or chairs.

The Chamber Orchestra, led by KSO Resident Conductor James Fellenbaum, will perform light classics and pops tunes including George Gershwin's Summertime, Irving Berlin's A Symphonic Portrait and the ever-popular John Philip Sousa's Washington Post March.

Next Thursday, May 31, join Ijams volunteer Lynn Keffer as she reads The Hungry Thing, a children's book that teaches phonemic awareness by Jan Slepian and Ann Seidler. Comfort Bears

B97.5 & Lexus of Knoxville are collecting stuffed animals for First Responders to give to children for comfort through June. On June 23, there will be a celebration for kids to meet emergency responders from 11am to 3pm in the lot across from Lexus of Knoxville on Parkside Drive.
