Rocky Hill Rampage Fun Run

Rocky Hill Elementary School will host the Rocky Hill Rampage Fun Run to kick off the school year in a fun and healthy way Tuesday, September 11 at 5:30 p.m. The event will start in the gym, and then each class will proceed to run/walk the 1/4 mile walking trail on Rocky Hill's campus. Current UT track team members and former Olympians are scheduled to attend.

"Haunting in the Hills"

Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area
The featured tellers for 2012 will be Lyn Ford, Bobby Norfolk, Sherry Norfolk, Kim Weitkamp and Faye Wooden.

Traditional craft classes are taught from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Mountain dulcimer music will be performed by the Knoxville Area Dulcimer Club throughout the day. An hour-long dulcimer concert will be held under the big tent beginning at 4:00 p.m.
An additional hour-long performance of bluegrass music will be at 5:30 p.m. presented by Great Day in the Morning band from Scott County, Tennessee. Civil War stories about the Big South Fork area will be presented by National Park Rangers at 6:30 p.m. 

Main storytelling event begins at 8:00 p.m. and continues until 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Stories get progressively more scary as the evening goes on.

Cowpea Festival & Cook-off

International Cowpea Festival and Cookoff
A little-known piece of agricultural history will be celebrated with the first-ever International Cowpea Festival & Cook-off coming this fall to the public park in Charleston, Tenn. The festival is set for Sept. 15, beginning at 10 a.m., with the headlining entertainment taking the stage at 7 p.m.
