Moments: Goodbye Preacher Mull

"I can't ever remember not watching Preacher Mull - watched all my life. It's just a part of Sunday morning."

Rev. J Bazzel Mull broadcast over Knoxville's airwaves - both radio and television - for an incredible 64 years. Generations of East Tennesseans grew up watching each Sunday on WBIR and other television stations.

While Rev. Mull could preach the gospel with the best of them, his show, 'The Mull Singing Convention', was dedicated to Southern gospel music. Legally blind since he was eleven months old, Rev. Mull learned the Bible by having it read to him.

Rev. Mull passed away in September of 2006 after a long illness. He was 91 years old. His wife, affectionately known as 'Lady Mull', passed away several years later.

The impact Rev. Mull and his show made on East Tennessee is long-lasting and remains one of your 'Straight from the Heart' Moments.
