Will the next Jedi Knight be discovered in Nashville?
Talent scouts for an unnamed Disney feature film are holding open casting calls across the country for two lead roles - and they'll make a stop in Nashville on November 24. Though Disney has declined to confirm, news outlets and fans around the world believe the film is the next "Star Wars" movie, scheduled to hit theaters Dec. 18, 2015.
For the first role, "Rachel," the studio is looking for a young woman to play 17-18 years old. The casting notice says the character "was quite young when she lost her parents. With no other family, she was forced to make her way alone in a tough, dangerous town."
The second role, "Thomas," requires a young man to play 19-23 years old. Thomas is described as growing up without a father figure, and without a strong sense of himself. "Despite this, he is smart, capable and shows courage when it is needed. He can appreciate the absurdities in life and understands you can't take life too seriously."
Both Rachel and Thomas, per the casting notice, "must be beautiful/handsome, smart and athletic."
Nashville's open casting call takes place November 24 at the Sheraton Nashville Downtown Hotel (623 Union St.) from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
