In 1985, the very first Fantasy of Trees opened in Knoxville as a way to raise money for East Tennessee Children's Hospital.
In the 24 years since, the Fantasy of Trees has raised more than $5 million to buy medical equipment to help children brought to ETCH.
The first Fantasy of Trees welcomed more than 13,000 visitors.
In 23 years, 1,097,145 people have attended the event to see some of the area's most beautiful holiday decorations created by area designers, businesses, and school children. This year, the proceeds raised will purchase state-of-the-art nuclear medicine equipment for the Children's Radiology Department.
