
The book features stories about those killed in the war on Terror. Each state is represented. None of the authors involved in the project were paid for their part in the book including the editor.
Nicole Henrich was asked to profile a Tennessee soldier. She chose Daniel McClenney of Shelbyville who died in Afghanistan on June 24, 2004.
Daniel was a shy kid who lost his mother as a teenager. He loved NASCAR and was devoted to his grandparents, especially his MeMa, Sarah Dean.
Each story in Faces of Freedom honors each of the fallen heroes' life by telling readers what made them so special. It shares stories, letters and favorite memories.
All proceeds from the sales of the book go to Fisher House and Wounded Warrior Project, two organizations that aid wounded veterans and their families.
