Monday night after the storms came through Knoxville, one family went outside to enjoy the cooler temperatures. The McBee family and their two birds relaxed on their porch.
Something happened and one of the birds, Daisy, was startled and she flew away. One problem is Daisy has never really flown before and she has never been in a tree before either. It's hard to believe, but she is a hand raised Hahns Macaw. Phyllis and her husband searched for most of the night for their feathered friend. They did find Daisy in a neighbor's yard up in a tree, about 30 feet. So out came the extension ladder, and off flew Daisy.
So the McBees and their blue and gold macaw Stella wait for the return of the little green bird. Phyllis says she talks all the time.. and LOVES peanut butter.
Daisy was lost in North Knox County off Tazewell Pike.
