The Band Perry to mentor on 'The Voice'

Blake Shelton plans to welcome a feisty blonde, female country singer as one of the mentors for his team on season six of "The Voice," but it's not the one fans might expect.

The Band Perry - which is siblings Neil, Reid and lead singer Kimberly Perry - will advise the remaining contestants on Team Blake during the show's Battle Rounds, which pit singers from the same teams against each other before elimination.

The Band Perry is currently performing on its "We Are Pioneers" world tour and will be featured on the 40th anniversary edition of Elton John's 1973 breakthrough album, "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" with a version of "Grey Seal." The reissued album will be released March 24.

Season six of "The Voice" premieres 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, on NBC.
