A 17-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound in the Fort Sanders neighborhood Thursday evening, according to Knoxville Police.
KPD said a woman driving a vehicle flagged down an ambulance on 17th Street near Highland Avenue just before 5 p.m. asking for help for the injured teen.
Police said 17-year-old Jason Young, of Knoxville, was alert and conscious in the woman's vehicle, and was taken to UT Medical Center.
His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
KPD said the shooting happened near Linden Avenue and Hembree Street.
Police questioned a man about the shooting, and he was arrested on unrelated charges.
The shooting remains under investigation.
