Gay weddings begin in New Jersey
Same-sex couples began exchanging vows in New Jersey at 12:01 a.m. ET Monday, despite attempts by Gov. Chris Christie to delay the implementation of a state judge's ruling that only permitting civil unions was keeping gay couples in the state from sharing legal equality. The governor's administration has appealed the decision to the state Supreme Court, but the high court refused to delay the granting of marriage licences while they review the case.
Obama to address Obamacare website problems
President Obama plans to address the myriad problems that have plagued the roll-out of the Affordable Care Act's website Monday. Many people have had trouble signing up for health-care plans in the online insurances exchanges that are a centerpiece of the ACA, also known as Obamacare. USA TODAY reported that "the federal health care exchange was built using 10-year-old technology that may require constant fixes and updates for the next six months."
Greece mystery girl
Authorities in Greece are continuing to probe what they are calling the mystery of ayoung girl found living with a Roma couple outside Athens. A 40-year-old woman and 39-year-old man have been charged with abducting a minor after police raided the camp Wednesday looking for drugs and weapons. They couple are due in court Monday.
BART strike continues, to the dismay of commuters
Commuters in the San Francisco Bay Area are scrambling to find their way to and from work as a strike by Amalgamated Transit Union 1555 threatens to keep the BART trains off the track for a fourth-straight day. An estimated 400,000 people rely on the public rail system for their daily trips to a city already burdened with some thenation's worst traffic.
