American Girl, which produces a signature line of doll toys, will open its first "experimental retail store" in Tennessee in the CoolSprings Galleria.
The 9,000-square-foot store is slated to open in spring 2015 as part of the ongoing redevelopment of the Williamson County retail destination.
Currently, the nearest American Girl retail store for Nashville shoppers is in Atlanta. Nashville will also be the smallest metro area to have an American Girl retail location.
"For 16 years, American Girl retail stores have created unforgettable memories for millions of girls and their families, and we're thrilled to now bring the American Girl experience to even more fans in the Nashville area," said Wade Opland, American Girl's vice president of retail.
"Having American Girl come to CoolSprings Galleria is a perfect fit," said Stephen Lebovitz, president and CEO, CBL & Associates Properties Inc. "American Girl is selective when choosing retail locations so we are pleased with their decision to open their third store in the CBL mall portfolio and look forward to another successful addition to CoolSprings Galleria."
Visitors to CoolSprings Galleria's new American Girl store will find all of the company's historical and contemporary dolls, along with an assortment of doll outfits, accessories, girl-sized clothing and a variety of American Girl books.
In addition, American Girl shoppers will be able to have a meal or celebrate a birthday in the store's 25-seat Bistro, treat their dolls to a new hairdo in the Doll Hair Salon or design a doll-sized T-shirt in the "Creativi-Tees" boutique. A variety of girl-and-mom-friendly events and programs will also be offered throughout the year.
The company's first retail store opened in Chicago in 1998. American Girl is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mattel Inc.
