A 14-year-old student at Jefferson Middle School collapsed in the gym Wednesday morning and later died.
Ryan Collins collapsed in the gym around 10:10 a.m. on Wednesday morning. He was taken to Jefferson County hospital.
Officers with the Jefferson City Police Department got word that Collins had died around 11:30.
At this point, his cause of death is not known, but officers have been told the boy had a prior medical condition.
