A 2-year-old boy from Nashville has been struck in the head by a large rock at Fall Creek Falls State Park.
Caleb Brown was listed in critical condition at T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital in Chattanooga on Tuesday morning.
Parents Tim and Tiffany Brown told WSMV-TV in Nashville that they were hiking along the bottom of the falls on Saturday when a rock fell and hit Caleb.
Tim Brown said another hiker who was an emergency medical technician checked his son's pulse and found he was still breathing. As they took him out, they ran into other park visitors who were nurses, a doctor, a police officer and a firefighter.
The station reported that investigators are trying to determine if the rock fell on its own or if someone caused the rock to fall.
