The chief of the LaFollette Police Department resigned this week in the wake of an officer's arrest.
Chief James Lynch stepped down Tuesday but asked to return to his previous position as a patrol lieutenant.
Captain Jack Widener will serve as interim chief until a permanent replacement can be found.
Lynch's resignation comes after officer Tony Rucker resigned on December 2nd.
A grand jury indicted Rucker on charges of bribing a witness, filing a false report, and official misconduct.
