Saturday is Christmas so almost everything is closed: grocery stores, department stores and big box retailers.
But some places in Knoxville will open their doors to customers on Christmas day.
For the second year, Shoney's on Western Avenue will be open for Christmas.
It certainly looks the part! "Just about every corner is decorated," Shoney's Restaurant Manager Karen Vaughn said.
Shoney's Restaurants in Maryville and Dandridge also open at 8:00 on Christmas morning
"Our people want to be here. They've all volunteered. And we're really excited to be open for the public," Vaughn said.
Mandarin House is open with its Chinese buffet.
You can enjoy a Christmas buffet at the Crowne Plaza downtown and the Holiday Inn Cedar Bluff.
Calhoun's is open for lunch, dinner, and beyond.
IHOP has breakfast all day. And Waffle House is always open, even Christmas day.
"Get here early and hope you can find a place to sit," Curtis Mount with Waffle House advised.
If you happen to overindulge in your holiday celebration you can pick up some Tums or aspirin at Walgreens or at CVS. Both drug stores are open Christmas day.
Need caffeine? Starbucks at Turkey Creek will be open until 2:00 Saturday afternoon.
And Regal Cinemas will show movies all day.
"I'm buying gift cards for my mother to give the family for us to all go see a movie tomorrow after we eat Christmas dinner," Karen Floris explained outside the Pinnacle 18 theater. "My nephews and my husband and son will probably want to see Tron and my sisters and I will probably want to see a romantic chick flick."
To everyone in East Tennessee...
"I'd like to wish them a Merry Christmas, and hope they have the time to stop by," Karen Vaughn said.
Of course, Channel 10 is open Saturday.
