A woman from Mohawk, Tennessee is now dead after an accident in Greeneville Saturday morning.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 49-year-old Barbara Banatta was traveling south on Mount Hope Road when she crossed the center line and hit a second vehicle.
Investigators believe icy and snow roads were a factor in the accident and may have caused the car to slip. Banatta was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both Carl Keasling, 51, and 46-year-old Norma Partin were passengers in Banatta car and were taken to Laughlin Hospital in Greeneville and released after treatment.
None of the passengers in Banatta's car were wearing seatbelts. The driver of the second car, Carroll Wisecarber, 50, received minor injuries after the accident. He was treated and released from a local hospital.
