A Claiborne County man faces charges after he allegedly fired shots at a train on June 3.
According to the Claiborne County Sheriff's Department, officials received reports of shots being fired near the railroad tracks in the Tipprell community.
Once officials arrived at the scene they found 47-year-old Mark Bruce had walked down to the stopped train and aimed his rifle at two of the train's employees. He told the employees to leave immediately and then opened fire on the train.
After further investigation, officers believe Bruce had been drinking and taking drugs when he became angry with train officials for the accidental death of his friend Timmy Miracle who died the week before.
Bruce's bond has been set at $100,000. He faces charges for aggravated assault.
